Working with Skills Development Centre Since 2011 , I have been following my passion for Tabla since childhood. I believe that Music is a universal language of mankind that everyone should be able to speak, listen to & admire it.

Santosh Gajanan Kulkarni belongs to the family of rich musical heritage. His grand father Late Shri Annaji Kulkarni was a noted Tabla player. His father pandit Gajanan Kulkarni and Uncle Shri R.V. Kulkarni, both are renowned tabla players.

Santosh started his initial Tabla training at the age of 4 with his father. Then he took advanced training from Pt. Basavraj Bendigeri (a distinguished Tabla Vidwan of thee period) at Dharwad. Santosh started giving solo concerts at the age of 8, after meticulously trained by Pt. Basavraj . He traveled all over India to accompany great artists and to give solo performances too.

A turning point in Santosh’s life came when he met Pandit Suresh Talvalkar. The hunt for excellence drew him to Mumbai where he has undergone a thorough specialized Training from Pt. Suresh Talvalkar in traditional Gurukul system. A Hard work of more than 10 years, great personnel passion and Pt. Suresh Talvalkar’s expertise finally molded Santosh as a genius Tabalji. Santosh developed his own style of solo performances and started accompanying all the leading artists.

Santosh’s playing technique is well appreciated by many great artists like Ustad Zakir Hussain, Usad Shafas Ahamad, Ustad Sabir Khan, Pt. Eswarlal Mishra, Pt. Arvind Mulgaonkar, Pt. Bhai Gaitonde .
